About Ben

Ben is a therapist with experience helping people learn to trust, challenge, and understand themselves in deeper ways. He brings a sense of calm and openness to his therapeutic approach. He is skilled at illuminating the unseen in an empathic and supportive way. Ben is an eclectic practitioner who works with adults, adolescents, and couples.

He has experience treating anxiety, men and women’s issues, perfectionistic tendencies, depression, life stage challenges, executive functioning concerns, and depression.

Ben researches and specializes in treating individuals who are both high-achieving and who experience significant distress.

He uses a combination of cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic therapy to address both the “everyday stuff” and the deeper-level strivings for fulfillment.

Ben also integrates films into the therapy process to open up one’s sense of self awareness of how they function internally and in the world. This brings creativity and a broader range of expression outside the therapy room.

His continues to research the effects of perfectionism at Northwestern University, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from The Family Institute.
