About Tamara

Flexibility and humility are the characteristics that guide Tamara's practice. Informed by current research on attachment and brain development, she is passionate about each person's potential for change through connection to others. Clients have the opportunity to feel supported and heard with empathy, humor, and intelligence. 

Valuing each person's unique and changing needs, Tamara is committed to working with her clients to build a sharper awareness of their strengths and values. While acknowledging the potency of the past, she honors the challenges and benefits of the present, fostering clients' resilience and creativity so they can fully embrace the future.

Tamara works with individuals, couples, and families facing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, professional and personal transitions including sexual identity, divorce, care-taking for aging parents, and work-life balance. She has extensive experience with recovery from medical crisis, addiction, and trauma. Employing an integrative approach, she works in collaboration with other providers when appropriate to ensure comprehensive care. 

Tamara has a Masters in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago, and a Master of Arts in Art History from the University of Chicago. Tamara is certified in Alcohol and Drug Counseling, as well as Motivational Interviewing. Tamara has worked in all levels of care, with clients ranging in age from 14 to 80.
