About Laurel

After more than a decade of experience as both a practitioner and teacher in the healing arts, Laurel felt called to broaden her professional expanse by pursuing a Master’s of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, which is firmly rooted in the depth psychological tradition. Laurel is trained to host space for the importance of what lies beneath the surface of conscious awareness.  Through sensitive tending, respect for the incredible diversity of life and human experience, and grounded psychological theory, Laurel establishes a therapeutic connection that fosters illumination of blind spots, and co-creates healthier adaptive habits.

Laurel comes to Skylight after completing an internship facilitating group and individual sessions at a psychosocial rehab program in Chicago.  Her experience there confirmed resiliency’s power and the value of approaching life and oneself with curiosity.  With her background in body-centered practices, Laurel emphasizes the impact of mindfulness and the mind-body connection in her therapy sessions.  Laurel looks forward to exploring meaning with you.
