About Valentina

Valentina brings insight, radical acceptance and the value of difference into the therapy room.


Valentina is an Licensed Couples and Family Therapist dedicated to working with adults and couples to explore the underlying values and beliefs that shape their lives. Her job is to uncover those beliefs and guide clients to increase awareness about the role that culture, family of origin, social expectations, etc. play in the concerns that bring them to therapy.


Valentina is bilingual in English and Spanish. She has experience working with individuals from various cultural backgrounds presenting with a range of concerns, such as; life stage transitions, trauma, anxiety and identity exploration regarding ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Additionally, she has a clinical focus in working with couples who are struggling with intimacy, communication styles, conflict, and negotiation.

Valentina offers a non-judgmental approach that acknowledges the importance of feeling seen and validated. She strongly believes that having a transparent and trustworthy therapeutic relationship is a key aspect of a positive outcome in therapy. She is straightforward and challenges clients to be vulnerable and explore self-awareness in a safe and affirming space.


Valentina received her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Adler
University in Chicago and her Bachelors degree in Psychology from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. She completed a yearlong internship at Live Oak where she received intensive training and experience working with individuals and couples from numerous cultures and identities.
